In her work at the SEC (2000 - 2011), Susan worked extensively with securities regulators and international professional bodies on matters relating to the listing of public companies, cross-border accounting and financial reporting, internal control, and auditing. She also interacted with securities and banking regulators on matters relating to corporate governance and risk management.

Prior to joining the SEC, Susan was Vice President of Professional Development and Technical Activities at Financial Executives Institute, now Financial Executives International (FEI), from 1994 to 2000. In this role she worked with CFO’s, Controllers, Treasurers and other senior financial executives to monitor regulatory and standard setting actions and business developments and develop policy positions articulating the views and interests of industry members. Before joining the FEI professional staff, Susan served as Assistant Controller – Accounting Policy and External Financial Reporting at AT&T Headquarters from 1986 to 1994. She also held previous positions in AT&T and Verizon in telecommunications operations, education and employee development, and data systems.
