Edward A. Grun, NCARB, AIA

Edward A. Grun, NCARB, AIA, is an architect and former principal at Gensler with more than 40 years of professional experience in architectural design, project development, and management. His career includes leadership of Gensler’s Austin office and its global hospitality and resort practice. As an advisor to H.S. Grace & Company, Inc., he brings extensive experience in large-scale commercial real estate development, hospitality and resort projects, high-rise residential buildings, and corporate campuses.

Professional Experience

Mr. Grun has more than 40 years of professional experience in architectural design, development, and management. His career includes senior leadership responsibilities at Gensler, where he served as Principal, Managing Director of the Austin office, and Global Director of the firm’s Hospitality and Resort Practice.

His professional portfolio encompasses more than 50 million square feet of development, including over 60 hotels and resorts totaling more than 35,000 guest rooms, high-rise residential developments, and numerous major corporate campus projects.

Mr. Grun’s experience includes the design and development of large-scale hospitality, convention, corporate, and institutional facilities. His projects have involved complex planning, design coordination, and management responsibilities across a wide range of building types and development environments.

Notable projects in his portfolio include the Sands Parisian Macau, Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, Fairmont Austin, Signia Hilton at Georgia World, Deloitte University, KPMG Innovation & Learning Campus, and the ExxonMobil and Halliburton corporate campuses.

Before his leadership positions at Gensler, Mr. Grun served as a Principal with SKJB Architects / Sikes Jennings Kelly & Brewer Associates.
