From 2001 to 2022, he undertook numerous interim CFO assignments across a broad range of industries, including upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas operations, financial services, manufacturing, chemical refining, construction, and industrial leasing.
His senior executive experience includes serving as CFO and President of a privately held agricultural specialty chemical technology development company and as Chief Administrative Officer of a major television sports programming business operating 14 regional sports networks with more than 100 million subscribers worldwide.
Mr. Brooks also served as CFO of a diversified holding company whose businesses included the Houston Astros baseball team, management of the Astrodome complex, entertainment, facility management, cable television, hospitality, and real estate.
Earlier in his career, he held senior financial positions in the energy industry, including Vice President of Accounting at American Exploration Company and Senior Vice President, CFO, and Director at Saber Energy, later Valero. His responsibilities also included serving as Controller and Internal Auditor.
From 1967 to 1973, Mr. Brooks worked with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., now KPMG, where he managed audit engagements and participated in initial public offerings and acquisitions.
His broad financial and operational experience includes acquisition analysis and negotiations, SEC reporting, financial reporting and budgeting systems, risk management, operational cost analysis, treasury activities, investor relations, and venture capital relationships.
