Jeffrey E. Curtiss, CPA, CFA, J.D., L.L.M. (Taxation)

Jeffrey E. Curtiss, CPA, CFA, J.D., LL.M. (Taxation), is a former senior corporate financial executive and public company director with extensive experience in corporate finance, accounting, taxation, and corporate governance. His career includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of major publicly traded companies across manufacturing and service industries. He has also held significant board leadership responsibilities, including serving as Chairman of the Audit Committee and Chairman of the Nominating and Governance Committee of KBR, Inc.

Professional Experience

Mr. Curtiss has extensive experience in senior financial management, corporate governance, taxation, and public company oversight. From 1988 to 2006, he served as Senior Corporate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of several major corporations, including The Coleman Company, Heritage Media Corporation, Browning-Ferris Industries, and Service Corporation International.

Previously, he served in senior finance and corporate development positions at G.D. Searle & Co. and held domestic tax, international tax, and international treasury management responsibilities at Monsanto Corporation. His earlier professional experience includes work with Peat, Marwick & Mitchell and the law firm Nelson, Harding, Marchetti, Leonard & Tate.

Mr. Curtiss served on the Board of Directors of KBR, Inc., a NYSE-listed global professional services company, from 2007 through May 2018. During his tenure, he chaired KBR’s Nominating and Governance Committee and served on its Audit Committee, including ten years as Audit Committee Chair. He also served on the Independent Committee evaluating aspects of KBR’s separation from Halliburton, as well as the Compensation Committee and Environmental and Social Responsibility Committees.

His corporate experience encompasses large publicly owned companies operating in manufacturing and services, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, camping and outdoor products, media, waste management, death care, engineering, construction, and government services.

Mr. Curtiss also served on the boards of Heritage Media Corporation and American Ref-Fuel, a $2 billion waste-to-energy joint venture owned 50 percent by Browning-Ferris Industries.
