Pat Harrop began his career as a professional baseball player, drafted by the Kansas City Athletics after his college team won the NAIA national championship. He played professional baseball for three years and resigned due to injuries.

 

Pat began his career in industrial distribution after baseball, working for companies in Texas and Louisiana. He held senior sales positions in all the companies he worked for, and served as CEO of three companies he founded with partners and sold his interests to private equity buyers. After selling his third company, Pat did turnaround work for the next 20 years for two companies, turning around the sales of the regions he headed which contributed to the sale of each company. In one of the two, he doubled sales and doubled the profits with no new people. After the turnaround work, Pat worked for several years as a commissioned agent.
